Tysons Galleria doesn't have a lot of eating establishment to choose from. Our options were pretty much limited to Maggiano, Cheesecake Factory, Legal Seafood, and P.F. Chang.
I told Michael that anytime someone mentions Maggiano, they always have to mention that it's family style.
"Have you tried Maggiano?"
"Yeah, it's good, you know it's family style"
"We had our rehearsal dinner at Maggiano. You know it's family style"
He didn't believe me.
We decided on every one's favorite fusion "Chinese" place, P.F. Chang. We started with a calamari appetizer
Which was good but I prefer marinara with my calamari.
Did you know that Pei Wei is owned by P.F. Chang? Yup, and you can tell, the foods are actually pretty similar.
I got some chicken thing that tasted a lot like Pei Wei's Japanese Teriyaki bowl (which is my favorite). The lunch bowl specials at P.F. Chang are actually cheaper than Pei Wei because, at $7.95, it comes with soup.
But their egg drop soup was absolutely disgusting. It was too... starchy and very sweet. It's kind of like if someone took chicken stock and added corn starch and a whole bunch of sugar, along with eggs. Gross.
So, after lunch, we finally went inside Sur La Table and...
Gasp!!!
It was an entire wall of bakers rack dedicated to Le Creusets of all sizes, shapes, and color. Oh my! So beautiful!
I wasn't planning on getting a Wusthoff that day, I just wanted to hold one, test it out, see if I really like it. But, I don't like bothering store employees unless I plan on making a purchase so I just stared at the wall of Shun, Henkels, and Wusthoffs in awe. I was surprised to see that their Wusthoff prices were lower than Amazon, good to know.
It's dumb to want to spend so much on a knife when I plan on buying a house, I know. I think the money would be better spent on, you know, furniture. Still...
I didn't get a knife, but I did get a Pyrex 2 cup measuring cup.
The little one is the one I've always had. The new one isn't as cool as my old one (different font, blue tinted glass, rougher handle) but it's better than an Anchor.
