Growing up, in Korea, bananas were expensive- which means they were a special, special, wonderful treat. Once, when I was young, my brother had an upset stomach so my mom decided to cheer him up with a banana. !!! I was so jealous, I seriously considered faking a tummy ache but I was smart enough to know that my mom was not going to fall for my little ruse.
When we moved to the US, I found out that bananas were plentiful and cheap. I immediately went on a banana eating frenzy. No joke, I probably ate about 3 to 5 bananas a day. It was insane. I was in heaven... for about a month. Blech! I was so sick of bananas after my binge and ever since than... bananas... not really my favorite fruit... at all.
My sister said she hates bananas 'cause they remind her of being hungry. I understand where she's coming from. My brother was really into running and working out in high school so we always had bananas in the house (you eat one after a run to help prevent soreness). When you're hungry but strapped for time (or just lazy) just reach for a banana- it fills you up pretty quick.
Michael hates bananas. He says they're too "gluey". He can't even finish a small one. I can't take more than couple of bites before needing to drink something. They are gluey.
A couple of years ago, Daria told me that in about 20 years, bananas will become extinct. I didn't believe her... no way! They're everywhere! How are they going to go extinct in such a short period of time?! Well... turns out, she might be right.
Oh bananas... I hope someone finds a way to save you. You can't have Chunky Monkey without bananas!
Daria also said that tigers are suppose to become extinct soon... aw! I like tigers!
